The melamine plate is a staple in Chinese American households and has become an iconic symbol seen in Chinese restaurants all over America. Unlike fine porcelain, this plate is factory made. It is durable and practical and has been ingrained in Chinese American culture throughout the years.

The wide variety of colors represents jade, a stone embedded in Chinese culture for over 7,000 years. From jade bracelets to earrings, it symbolizes wisdom, prosperity, and good fortune.
